The EmpowerED Mirror Project is about more than just education—it’s about true representation in Washington County. Our mission is to recruit and support People of Color, especially Black, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander educators, to reflect the vibrant diversity of our community. We offer a culturally responsive pathway to ensure that the educators in our schools truly understand and represent the students they serve. Representation matters, and we’re dedicated to making it happen.
The F.U.T.U.R.E. Youth Empowerment Program empowers Black and Indigenous youth in Washington County through structured mentorship. Rising Stars (ages 10-15) are guided by Guiding Stars (ages 16-19) and W.E.S.T. Side Allstars—adult mentors with shared lived experiences who are already making a difference in the community. Together, they build resilience, leadership, and strong community connections.
